ENGAGING MEN <50 Y.O. INTO OUR CLUBS LEADERSHIP AND PROGRAMMING TO ATTRACT THEM
Mark Givarz, Vice President Midwest Region FJMC is leading this Region initiative. The Region has set goals for 2013-2015 and will be using this web site as a resoure and sharing venue.
Here are some of our Goals:
Midwest Region FJMC creates a forum for sharing successful programs that attracted Men <50 y.o. in the past.
- Specifically, the Region web site will have a Hador Habah section under “Club Resourses” tab featuring programs that have won Torch Awards from Midwest Region and other Regions. By September 1, 2013
- Clubs will be requested to use the Discussion forum to talk about their program ideas. First ideas on Discussion Board by October 1, 2013.
Midwest Region to present Torch Awards for Programming focused on attracting Men <50 y.o at the May 2-4, 2014 Retreat.
- 80% of MW region clubs send at least 1 <50 y.o. man to the 2014 retreat.
90% of MW region clubs have at least 1 program to be held in 5774 specifically designed for (or to attract) Men under 50 years of age.
- Success is based on number of new men under 50 years of age who attend, join Men’s Club and attend at least one other event.
- Clubs will be requested to report results.
- Each of these programs are ‘advertised’ on the MW region webpage.
SUCCESSFUL PAST PROGRAMS – TORCH AWARD WINNERS FROM MIDWEST REGION CLUBS
Program focusing on attracting Young Fathers with their children-
1. Dads and Darlings Chanukah Breakfast and Crafts
This program brings together young fathers and their preschool children to enjoy breakfast and an entertaining morning consisting of crafts, songs and storytelling. CBS Men’s Club uses this program as a recruiting opportunity to encourage young fathers to become active in CBSMC. To attract young fathers to a Sunday morning breakfast, MC partnered with The Young Family Outreach Group (“YFO”), a CBS organization composed of young parents who develop programming specifically directed towards younger families. This program first held in 2003 continues to this day. A number of the current CBS MC Exec Board Members (including the current Exec VP) became active after being introduced to Men’s Club at this event.

The Jessie White Tumbling team was a tremendous draw (over 200 attened). This event is big draw for young Men with their children. Key is to talk with them and invite them to other events.
